Ce protocole s’applique au premier vĂ©hicule arrivĂ© sur les lieux d’un sinistre.
1. Approche sécuritaire du site par les premiers répondants :
a) Identifier la prĂ©sence de matiĂšres dangereuses. Si prĂ©sente, se rĂ©fĂ©rer au protocole 1RÉP/IND. 1
(Exposition Ă  des matiĂšres dangereuses);
b) Identifier la présence de risques;
c) Estimer les conditions climatiques;
d) Analyser la topographie du terrain;
e) Estimer le nombre de patients;
f) Informer les autorités compétentes selon la politique régionale.
2. Le chef-trieur rencontre le directeur des opĂ©rations d’urgence de la municipalitĂ© lorsque disponible sur
les lieux.
3. Le trieur fait rapport au chef-trieur des rĂ©sultats de l’analyse de la situation. Ce dernier les transmet
au Centre de communication santé.
4. Permission d’intervenir refusĂ©e :
a) Le chef-trieur reste en contact continu avec le directeur des opĂ©rations d’urgence;
b) Le trieur communique les renseignements pertinents au chef-trieur.
5. Permission d’intervenir accordĂ©e :
a) Le trieur débute le triage selon la méthode START et JUMPSTART modifié (pour les enfants sans
signes de puberté) avec les cartons de triage;
b) Le chef-trieur organise le site d’intervention afin de faciliter l’arrivĂ©e des ambulances et organise les
communications.
6. Le chef-trieur Ă©tablit un point de triage et demande l’aide des Ă©quipes de sauvetage pour faire le
brancardage des patients s’il y a lieu.
7. Se rĂ©fĂ©rer au protocole 1RÉP/SIN. 2 (Protocole START et JUMPSTART modifiĂ©).
8. À l’arrivĂ©e des techniciens ambulanciers paramĂ©dics, leur transmettre l’information pertinente et
effectuer le transfert de responsabilités.

This protocol applies to the first vehicle arriving at the scene of a disaster.
1. Security approach to the site by first responders:
a) Identify the presence of hazardous materials. If present, refer to the 1RESP/IND protocol. 1
(Exposure to hazardous materials);
b) Identify the presence of risks;
c) Estimate climatic conditions;
d) Analyze the topography of the land;
e) Estimate the number of patients;
f) Inform the competent authorities according to regional policy.
2. The chief sorter meets the director of emergency operations of the municipality when available on
the places.
3. The sorter reports to the head sorter the results of the analysis of the situation. The latter transmits them
at the Health Communication Center.
4. Permission to intervene refused:
a) The chief sorter remains in continuous contact with the director of emergency operations;
b) The sorter communicates the relevant information to the head sorter.
5. Permission to intervene granted:
a) The sorter begins sorting using the START and modified JUMPSTART method (for children without
signs of puberty) with sorting boxes;
b) The chief sorter organizes the intervention site in order to facilitate the arrival of ambulances and organizes the
communications.
6. The head sorter establishes a triage point and requests help from the rescue teams to carry out the triage.
Stretching patients if necessary.
7. Refer to the 1ANS/SIN protocol. 2 (Modified START and JUMPSTART protocol).
8. When paramedic ambulance technicians arrive, provide them with relevant information and
carry out the transfer of responsibilities.
